Project description

From the geothermal point of view, Geoterm project covers one of the most favourable locations within Slovakia, which is situated in Ďurkov-Svinica, Bidovce and Olšovany, approximately 12km east of Košice.

The basic parameters of project:

• Reservoir is localized in depth of 2 100 to 3 200 meters under ground level
  
• Geothermal water has temperature of approximately 125 °C
  
• Total projected heat output is 100MWt
  
• Heat output will cover significant part of heat demand for households in city of Košice.
  
• Project launch is planned in 2010
  
• Project will contribute to improvement of atmosphere quality through significant reduction of pollution (SO2, NOx, CO, solid pollution substances) and substances that damage ozone layer / CO2 /
  
• Based on actual models, investment costs are around cca. 60 mil. EUR
  
• In order to finance the project, it is planned to use own capital, commercial loans, endowments and grants from structural funds.
